It is a bittersweet thing for the avid viewers of FOX's hit crime/medical procedural drama "Bone" to know that the upcoming season 12 of the show will be its last. Despite its nearing conclusion, the fans are still quite hyped up for the return of series since it is slated to shed light on some of the major cliffhanger moments served in season 11 finale.
In the season 11 ender, "The Nightmare in the Nightmare," it was revealed that Brennan or "Bones" (Emily Deschanel) has been a victim of The Puppeteer who, as further found out, was actually the former intern at the Jeffersonian Institute, Zack (Eric Millegan).
In an interview with TV Insider, executive producer Michael Peterson hinted that Zack's arc will definitely take center stage when "Bones" returns to the small screens.
"I think that's the big question: everyone is looking at him when we come back next season--what has happened?" Peterson said, adding, "If you look at the very end [of the finale], he has a very large scar across his forehead: what's the story behind that? He's been gone for a long, long time. As you very astutely said, being in a place where you're considered sick will have an impact on him. Who has he been hanging out with, what have their influences been? All of those things will need to be resolved."
It seems like Zack's involvement in Brennan's abduction will be one of the huge developments coming up in season 12. The synopsis shared by the network gave clues about "deaths, a wedding, epic serial killer storylines, and an undercover episode."
Speculations indicate indicate the possibility of this wedding being related to Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo (Pej Vahdat). The deaths, meanwhile, could somehow be connected to the cases the Jeffersonian team takes up on a weekly basis.
"Bones" season 12 will reportedly be made up of 12 episodes and will kick off in early 2017 on FOX.
