"Dragon Ball Super" took a short hiatus due to the holidays, but it is expected to be back on Jan. 8 with episode 73.
There seems to be some confusion regarding the title of the upcoming episode 73 of "Dragon Ball Super" as Inquisitr claims it's titled, "Gohan's Disaster! Great Saiyaman's Unbelievable Movie Adaptation?!," while Mobile & Apps claims that it's titled "Gohan gets made into a Film?!"
No matter what the title is, it is already confirmed that "Dragon Ball Super" episode 73 is another filler episode as the series is slowly building up to start the Universal Survival Arc. From the title itself, Gohan will be part of a movie that is being filmed. The movie features Great Saiyaman and Hercule in a dream match, and it was reported that Gohan will be volunteering to be a stuntman in the movie.
Meanwhile, episode 74 of "Dragon Ball Super" is said to be titled, "For Those He Loves! The Indomitable Great Saiyaman!" This episode will still focus on Goku's firstborn son, Gohan.
In a Jump preview that was translated by Todd Blankenship (@Herms98), it was revealed that Gohan learned that Watagash, a mental parasite that injects darkness into his victims, has reached earth. With Barry Karn hating Gohan, it wasn't long before he becomes Watagash's next victim.
It also revealed that Pan would be kidnapped by the Watagash-infected Barry Karn. The good news is that Pan is quite capable of taking care of herself, and it was revealed that despite the worries of Gohan and everyone else, Pan was untouched.
There have been a lot of speculations claiming that since the series seems to be building up Gohan in the filler episodes, it could simply mean that the Gohan's character would be playing a big role in the upcoming Universal Survival Arc.
"Dragon Ball Super" episode 73 will be released on Sunday, Jan. 8, while episode 74 will premiere on Jan. 15.
