The much-awaited open beta for Bandai Namco's upcoming title "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" was finally made available and fans are quite excited about the news about the game going live. Unfortunately, it appears like things did not exactly go as planned. A lot of players reported several server-side issues — at least in the servers hosted by Sony.
"We are currently encountering issues with the access to the PlayStation Network, which is making it difficult to play the game," a post on the game's official Facebook page read, adding, "There are no known issues within our server, so no maintenance is currently scheduled. However, if the issue can not be resolved, we may have to postpone or cancel the Raid Quest."
The open beta was supposed to end on Monday, Oct. 17, but due to the issues that many fans encountered, Bandai Namco announced on its official Europe Twitter page that they would be extending the open beta for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" for another day.
There was a catch, however. Bandai Namco noted on its reply that the open beta was unavailable on the PlayStation Store. This meant that only those who had already downloaded the beta could continue to give "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" another try.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco has officially announced another new character in the game, and surprisingly, this new playable figure is none other than Black Goku, the one of the two main antagonists in the current Future Trunks arc of "Dragon Ball Super." Fans will have to pre-order "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" in order to get Black as a playable character on day one of its release. Players who choose not to do so will not have a chance to get him available in the game, according to the report from GameRant.
"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is set to be launched on the current-generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as on the PC platform on Oct. 25.
