The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 trade event for the gaming industry may still be a few more months away, but tickets will be going on sale in less than a week.
According to a TechRadar report, event organizer Electronic Software Association (ESA) confirmed that this year's edition of the E3 will again be open to the public. Moreover, tickets will go on sale next Monday, Feb. 12, starting at 12 p.m. EST (9 a.m. PST). Gamers and enthusiasts who wish to join the festivities in person need act quick, as the tickets will be limited, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served manner, the report added.
Tickets will be priced at US$249, which is good for three days, and the first 1,000 tickets will be sold at a discounted rate of $149. Furthermore, Gamespot said that ESA has yet to release the total number of tickets that will go on sale this year. In the E3 2017 edition, a total of 15,000 tickets were sold to the public, the report noted.
Apart from the discounted tickets, ESA also confirmed that this year's E3 will have extended show hours compared to last year. The move was made to give exclusive time to the media to touch base with the different game developers and companies from the gaming industry without affecting the time the public can spend in participating and connecting with the latter.
According to the E3 2018 official website, the event is expected to attract over 68,000 attendees, and put over 2,000 products on display. Some of the participating companies and exhibitors include household names like Nintendo, Bandai Namco Entertainment, SEGA, Microsoft, Sony PlayStation, and Warner Bros., to name a few.
Major press conferences from various tech and gaming giants are also expected to take place earlier in the week of E3 2018. The event happens on June 12 to 14 at the LA Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.
