With roughly two months to go before "Far Cry 5" is released, Ubisoft revealed the requirements for PC owners to enjoy the upcoming action-adventure, first-person shooter video game.
Gamespot reported that players who wish to enjoy the game at its minimum requirements should check their PCs if they have Intel i5-2400 or AMD FX-6300 in their hardware. This will then be paired with an Nvidia GTX 670 or AMD R9 270 video card and 8 GB of RAM, according to the game's official system and specs requirements. Moreover, the resolution should stand at 720p with a video preset set at Low, to complete the minimum requirements.
As for the recommended configuration (60 FPS), the processor should be an Intel Core i7-4770 @ 3.4 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.2 GHz or equivalent. On the other hand, the video card should be an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD R9 290X (4GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better). The system RAM is still the same at 8GB, though the resolution and video preset are now set at 1080p and High, respectively.
"PC has always been a key element of Far Cry's DNA, and this couldn't be truer with Far Cry 5," said "Far Cry 5" PC version producer, Kirill Bragin, in a Ubisoft presser. Bragin noted, however, that players are not required to tinker with the presets, since "the game will auto-detect the user's hardware and will set the matching quality preset and resolution."
For gamers who wish to enjoy "Far Cry 5" in 4K 30 FPS, they should have a Windows 10 OS(64-bit version) with an Intel Core i7-6700 @ 3.4 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X @ 3.6 GHz or equivalent processor. The video card should be an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD RX Vega 56 (8 GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better) while the RAM should be at 16 GB. The resolution should be at 2160p with a video preset set at High.
Lastly, players who want to enjoy the game in 4K 60 FPS should have a Windows 10 (64-bit) OS and an Intel Core i7-6700K @ 4.0 GHz or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X @ 3.4 GHz or equivalent processor. The video card should be an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SLI or AMD RX Vega 56 CFX (8 GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better) with 16 GB of RAM. Like the 4K 30, the resolution is also at 2160p with the video preset at High or Ultra.
"Far Cry 5" will be launched on March 27 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
