The much-awaited franchise installment "Final Fantasy XV" is almost here, and fans now have a better idea of what they can expect for the title's file size requirement, particularly for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
According to Dual Shockers, fans who own a PlayStation 4 might have to allot a very sizeable disk space on their drive as "Final Fantasy XV" is now confirmed to come out with a digital pre-load file size of 50.6 GB.
However, it seems like the size requirement doesn't end there just yet. It was also revealed that the game will require an additional 6.5 GB of space before avid fans of the "Final Fantasy" franchise can start playing the game.
Luckily, it seems like those who are on the Xbox One platform will only have to worry about the 50.94 GB space requirement, which was revealed earlier this November.
Interestingly enough, it would seem like the space requirement that Square Enix listed on the PlayStation Store page for "Final Fantasy XV" was not entirely accurate. The developer and publisher's post earlier advertised that the game would only require 40.5 GB of free space.
However, Dual Shockers has reported that this isn't exactly surprising since there is usually a margin of error when it comes to game file size estimates, especially when it involves a pre-release version.
Another possibly reason why the file size has inflated into this — at least for the PS4 version — could be due to the day-one patch that Square Enix will release for the game. Square Enix's "Crown Update" will add some new cutscenes in the the title that were taken from the movie "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" and from the "Final Fantasy XV" "Omen" game trailer.
The "Crown Update" also adds many new interesting features to the game such as a monster whistle that summons more monsters that Noctis and the gang can fight and a "Wait Mode."
"Final Fantasy XV" is now scheduled to be released this Nov. 29 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
