A video of another character for the upcoming sequel to the fighting video game "Injustice: Gods Among Us" has been released by NetherRealm, this time featuring the Batman's famous plant-inspired nemesis.
The video game developer released a trailer for Poison Ivy, showing the wily villain in action and her botanical-based fighting moves. The video opens with the character facing Bane, where she unleashes a plethora of quick strikes, including summoning plant-like spikes from the ground that could throw away enemies up in the air. Another scene showed Poison Ivy conjuring a dragon-like plant from the ground, which spits projectiles toward opponents.
Another scene showed her battling Catwoman, who she takes up into the air using a giant spinning petal before throwing her back into the ground. Furthermore, Poison Ivy also has a move wherein she kisses opponents, which results into freezing the latter, making them vulnerable and helpless to her strikes.
Meanwhile, her special move involves calling out a giant plant monster that tangles opponents using its roots before swallowing and biting them. It will then spew them into the ground for the knockout.
"Dr. Pamela Isley was once an innovative, radical botanical biochemist with a singular goal: make the world safe for plant life to flourish," read her official character description. "She joins the Society to further their common interest in bringing mankind to its knees, but at heart, Ivy's desire is to ensure that in any new world order, flora dominates fauna," it went on to say.
Before releasing Poison Ivy's trailer, NetherRealm released videos showcasing The Flash, as well as Scarecrow. Furthermore, they also came out with a video explaining the Gear system, which will enable players to suit up their characters using different kinds of battle gear and other cosmetic items. The system will also allow gamers to update and level up the skills of the heroes or villains they will be using.
"Injustice 2" is scheduled to come out on May 16, and it will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
