Microsoft reveals lineup of free Xbox One, 360 Games With Gold for February

(Microsoft)Microsoft revealed February's Games With Gold.

As the year enters the month of February, Microsoft revealed its latest free offerings for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

According to a post on the official blog of Xbox Live director Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners who are Gold subscribers will get to enjoy some free titles throughout the brand new month. Heading the list for Xbox One is "Shadow Warrior" from publisher Devolver Digital, which will be free for download for the entire month. The first-person shooter video game features a modern ninja warrior and his exploits of fighting a host of demons.

Next on the list is "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India" from Ubisoft. The game is part of the growing list of titles under the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, and is the second installment of a three-part series that also featured "China" and "Russia." The game goes free beginning Feb. 16 until March 15, a report from Gamespot noted.

Switching over to the Xbox 360, racing game "Split/Second" from Disney Interactive Studios becomes available until Feb. 16. It will then be replaced by the score attack racing game "Crazy Taxi" from Dreamcast, which will be free to download until the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Xbox's backward compatibility library has added two new titles to its growing list of Xbox 360 games that are now playable on the Xbox One. "Split/Second" and Lucas Arts' "Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues" can now be enjoyed on the Xbox One platform, Gamespot reported.

Developed by Traveller's Tales, "The Adventure Continues" was first released back in 2009 and covered four "Indiana Jones" cinematic films where players get to explore and solve different kinds of puzzles.

Players who own physical copies of the two games can directly load their old Xbox 360 discs into the Xbox One console to enjoy the titles. For players who are looking to get the digital version, they can purchase online by heading to the My Games and Apps section of the Xbox One and entering the Ready to Download area. Moreover, players can also purchase the two games in the Xbox Store.
