New 'Injustice 2' trailer features Darkseid in gameplay action

Fresh trailers for the upcoming video game "Injustice 2" continue to arrive, as video game developer NetherRealm released a new one last Thursday, featuring some action starring one of the title's most intimidating villains.

The trailer featured Darkseid, who is described in his official biography as "a being of pure hate and incarnate." According to a report from Gamespot, the god-like character is available as a pre-order bonus.

The trailer showcases some of Darkseid's menacing attacks that include powerful throws, strikes, and a thin red Omega Beam coming from his eyes, which can cause different kinds of problems for his opponents. The video shows him hitting his opponents in a nonchalant fashion, and he is, at times, seen teleporting from one side of the screen to the other, leaving his enemies off guard. Another scene shows him summoning a flying demon-like companion from a different dimension that shoots a fireball.

The highlight of the gameplay trailer is Darkseid's super move, which begins with him releasing the Omega Beam from his eyes that will hit opponents and take them away into outer space. He will then make his opponents hit different kinds things, like satellites, before he slams them hard into a giant wall that turns out to be Darkseid's hand. This hand also which pulls the opponents into a portal, returning them back into the original fighting location.

Described as the "lord of Apokolips, Darkseid demands the total subjugation of all existence. His merciless obsession has left a wake of suffering and obliteration as he seeks the Anti-Life Equation." Moreover, he is said to have an "invincible body," and he reportedly possess "limitless strength" plus an "army of Parademons" that make him an undeniable threat to earth, as well as the rest of the galaxy.

Last week, the game's Achievement List spread online via a post from Xbox Achievements, which also confirmed that the character Joker will appear in the title.

"Injustice 2" is set to launch on May 16 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.
