In a move to address nagging issues in its multiplayer mode, the creators of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" released an update to settle the problem, at least for now.
In a post on the official website of "Uncharted," video game developer Naughty Dog announced the arrival of Patch 1.23.070 that resolves the problems concerning Ranked Season 5. After its launch last April 5, there has been a problem that has "prevented some players' progress from being reset."
"To ensure a level playing field, we're kicking off a new Ranked Season today that will be a clean start for all players. Any progress made in Ranked Season 5 will be reset, but don't worry–any Ranked rewards you earned along the way will be retained," the developers explained on the post. Moreover, they have also made steps to ensure that players get an opportunity to earn a Season 5 reward, specifically the Cowboy Hat item, as well as the Cabbage Patch taunt.
"As you advance through ranks in Season 6, you'll earn our new Ranked Sniper Masks like normal, but at the end of the season, you'll also receive each Ranked Season 5 Cowboy Hat corresponding to your final rank," the post explained. Players who reach Gold III or higher will get the Ranked Cabbage Patch taunt as well as the Season 6 Ranked Walk It taunt. To cap it off, additional relics will be given to those who complete Ranked Season 6, the post added.
In addition, the patch also offered some fixes and balance changes, which added death region to Village, preventing exploit; and increased Drake's Aegis to 3 LP.
Last month, "Uncharted 4" bagged "Game of the Year" honors at the South by South West (SXSW) 2017 Gaming Awards for exemplifying "overall excellence" and for creating "a distinct gaming experience across all platforms and genres." Moreover, it also took home "Excellence in Animation" for its impressive animation effects and the "Excellence in Visual Achievement" award for its remarkable graphics.
