'Pokemon GO' news: All eggs will hatch Generation 3 creatures from Hoenn region

(Pokemon Go Live)A promotional image featuring the new Gen 3 Pokemon from the Hoenn region added to the "Pokemon GO" mobile game.

Fans of "Pokemon GO" will be in for a special treat, albeit for a limited time only.

According to Niantic Labs, the developer behind the hit augmented reality (AR) mobile game, all "Pokemon GO" eggs will hatch Generation 3 Pokemon coming from the Hoenn region. Niantic revealed the news earlier this week in a Twitter post that also came with a short video featuring an egg hatching into Torchic from the "Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire" games.

"Get hatching, Trainers. For a limited time, every Egg you hatch will feature a Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region," wrote the game developer on Twitter. "As you're out adventuring with friends and family and exploring your local neighborhoods, be sure to share your favorite moments and photos using #PokemonGO on your social media channels," Niantic added in a blog post.

In addition, Niantic also announced the arrival of another Gen 3 Legendary, Kyogre, which will be available in Raid Battles until Feb. 14. A total of 23 new Pokemon from the said region were added this week, which is a strong follow-up to the 70 Gen 3 Pokemon released last month, a Gamespot report noted.

Meanwhile, the first-ever "Pokemon GO" Community Day took place last Jan. 20. During the event, Trainers got a crack at catching Pikachu who can use Surf. "Once a month, we'll host a Pokémon GO Community Day event starring a special Pokémon, which will appear frequently around the world for just a few hours," Niantic explained in another blog post.

"When caught during the event, this special Pokémon will know an exclusive move. Other bonuses will be in effect during the event, such as increased XP or Stardust, and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours," Niantic added. The next Community Day is slated for Feb. 24, this time featuring the Pokemon Dratini.

With surprises like these, only time will tell how long the "Pokemon GO" craze will remain at a high level. Moreover, Niantic also gave their word that they will continue to come up with new features to make the AR game more exciting than ever.
