Sadly, the first part of the Christmas event held by "Pokémon GO" has ended, but players still have until Jan. 8 to enjoy the other holiday offerings by Niantic.
"Pokémon GO" players have until today, Jan. 3, to go to a PokeStop to receive their daily single-use incubator after visiting the first PokeStop of the day. The offering that has given players more chances of catching Johto region Pokémon like Togepi and Pichu will also end on Jan. 3.
Niantic has also added the gift boxes in their Christmas event. The gift boxes being offered by the game developer comes in three different versions.
The Bronze Box could be purchased for 460 PokeCoins, and it contains eight Lure Modules and 100 Pokeballs. The Silver Box could be purchased for 980 PokeCoins, and it has eight pieces of Incense, eight Lucky Eggs, and eight Lure Modules. The Gold Box is worth a whopping 2480 PokeCoins, and it contains 25 pieces of Incense, 24 Lucky Eggs, 16 Lure Modules, and 50 pieces Great Balls.
Although the offering will end on Jan. 3, the other update from Niantic has been welcomed by fans as they are offering a higher chance to encounter first partner Pokémon and their subsequent evolutions. "Pokémon GO" players will have a higher chance of encountering Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur; Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard; and Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise.
As a bonus, Niantic has also extended the duration of the Lure Modules to double its usual time, which is 60 minutes from its normal 30-minute duration.
This event will only last until Jan. 8.
The "Pokémon GO" Christmas event is almost ending, so it is not surprising that there are a lot of fans and players looking forward to future events and offerings by the game developer. In a report by iTechPost, the media outlet speculated on the next event by Niantic, which is expected to be the summer event. A Reddit post has even suggested that a Surfing Pikachu could be offered by Niantic for the summer, much like how they offered the Santa Hat Pikachu during the Christmas event.
