As talks for the next season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" ("RHOA") have already begun online, one of the original stars of the reality TV series may be headed for a rousing comeback.
In a video posted on celebrity website TMZ, Linnethia Monique "NeNe" Leakes, one of the show's original cast members, unleashed some words of caution addressed to members of the current cast, who were reportedly against the idea of her making a comeback.
"That is unfortunate because I started the show and they will be off the show before I will," Leakes said confidently. A paparazzo, on the other hand, threw a follow-up statement, saying that some of the current cast feels that a return for the 49-year-old TV personality and fashion designer would only cause drama. As a response, Leakes fired back, saying that it was them who would have to leave the show before her.
Meanwhile, Leakes' friend and fellow original "RHOA" cast member Cynthia Bailey also had some words for the paparazzi on the scene. "They don't want her to be great," said the 49-year-old Bailey before their vehicle drove off.
In a report by TMZ last week, another reason why some of the current cast of "RHOA" are against the return of Leakes, as well as Kim Zolciak, is that the salaries of the two may take a huge chunk of the show's current budget, thus affecting the salaries of the other cast members. Moreover, sources said that some of the current housewives even called production last week to complain about the planned comeback of the two.
On the other hand, Shereé Whitfield, another original cast member, voiced her approval for Leakes' and Zolciak's return. "I think bringing back some of the OGs would be awesome," said Whitfield. "It's an ensemble cast, and I think people tune in because they can relate to each of us girls," she added.
