The item box — or item chest — has always been one of the most important and memorable elements in the "Resident Evil" franchise. Now, it appears like the feature is not going anywhere as game developer Capcom recently showcased the item box in its upcoming entry, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard."
Aside from the item box, though, the clip which was posted on YouTube late last week showed a shotgun weapon as well as an inventory management system, by the looks of it. Watch the official teaser clip below, taken from the game's official YouTube channel.
Interestingly enough, it seems like the style that Capcom used is pretty much similar to what the studio had in the franchise's previous instalment, "Resident Evil 4," according to a report by PC Gamer. The player will be able to transfer items into a grid which is the inventory of the characters found on the right side of the screen.
Meanwhile, the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 (E3) demo, "Kitchen," has been confirmed to be added as a day one PlayStation VR (PSVR) demo title, as said on previous reports.
Those who have already purchased the PSVR peripheral can now download the "Resident Evil Kitchen" demo, as said on iTech Post. However, fans who prefer to use the VR headset from HTC/Valve, dubbed the HTC Vive, and the desktop headset Oculus Rift will have to wait for 12 more months before they can start to jump in on the horror game. The source above noted that the "Resident Evil" VR demo is going to be a PlayStation exclusive for at least a year before it starts to roll out on other platforms.
"Resident Evil: Biohazard" is now scheduled to be released on current-generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as on Windows PC on Jan. 24, 2017. No official word yet, though, has been released on the storyline of the game but more news about the matter should emerge in the coming weeks or months.
