"Resident Evil," one of the most popular horror games of all time, will have its newest sequel "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" launched on Jan. 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4 (PlayStation 4 Pro 4K/HDR), Xbox One (Xbox One S HDR) and PC. "Resident Evil 7" can also be played fully in virtual reality (VR) through its compatibility with the PlayStation VR.
As indicated on game developer and publisher Capcom's official website, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," can be pre-ordered at a price of $59.99 for the Standard Edition which features only the main game, and at a more costly $89.99 for the Deluxe Edition which not only includes the game itself, but also an exclusive access to three downloadable contents (DLCs) scheduled to be released soon. The upcoming sequel is set to go on sale from Nov. 11 until the game's release next year.
The highly anticipated addition to the horror survival game series will attempt to revive its original gameplay featuring a first-person perspective, purposely made to be a perfect match to VR platforms. "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be powered by an upgraded version of the RE Engine, which will allow its players to be frightened at a whole new level.
The upcoming game also boasts a new tagline, "Fear Comes Home," which indeed catches much-needed attention from fans of the "Resident Evil" series.
Capcom has confirmed that the "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" gameplay will induce the best possible experience, due to an impressive 4K resolution and high-end lighting adjustments for the high dynamic range (HDR) video that the game will be equipped with.
Capcom has also just released the first three videos in a ten-part short video series, featuring the game world of "Resident Evil 7." The three volumes that showcase the recorder (saving point), ammo storage, and a mysterious caller can be viewed below:
