The year 2017 is here, and it simply means that there is now less than a year before "Star Wars: Episode 8" is released. As with any much-awaited sequel, it is no surprise that there have been a lot of rumors and speculations regarding the upcoming movie.

The most recent speculations stem from YouTuber Mike Zeroh, claiming that Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) will really embody the dark side as he will betray his apprentice, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), in favor of Rey (Daisy Ridley).

Snoke betraying Kylo Ren is not exactly a leak as it is simply a theory derived from a few scenes that were shown in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

The first scene was Kylo Ren talking to Snoke about Rey and how she seemed to not realize her potential when it comes to using the Force. It should be remembered that Snoke was immediately interested in Rey as he ordered Kylo Ren to capture her to be presented to him.

The second was during the battle between Rey and Kylo Ren. While consumed with battle lust, a voice seemed to be provoking Rey to kill her opponent.

Those two scenes have prompted the speculation about Snoke's interest in getting Rey to turn to the dark side, so much so that he will instruct the latter to kill his own apprentice.

The past week also dealt a huge blow not only to the "Star Wars" franchise, but it was almost a personal loss to numerous "Star Wars" fans the world over. It was only last Dec. 27 when it was officially confirmed that Carrie Fisher, who played the iconic Princess Leia and General Leia Organa, have passed away.

Almost as soon as her death was announced, families, relatives, friends, and a lot of fans sent their tribute to the iconic actress and writer.

The Old Republic players gave tribute to Fisher by gathering at House Organa on Alderaan. Some artists paid tribute by sharing illustrations of the late actress and writer.
