Nintendo has been pretty mum about "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" since a glimpse of it was shown during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 (E3 2016), which was held last June 13 to 15 in Los Angeles, California.
The good news is that The Game Awards 2016 host himself, Geoff Keighley, teased that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be making an appearance. Nintendo of America confirmed Keighley's announcement by uploading an image with nothing but the words "The Game Awards 2016," though they did caption it saying that fans will get an exclusive look of the game in the coming show.
Although a new "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" trailer is expected to be released during The Game Awards 2016, no other information is known about the reveal.
In other news, Nintendo has launched the official website for the newest "The Legend of Zelda" game. For now, the website is nothing but a receptacle of previously released updates regarding the new "The Legend of Zelda" game.
The homepage endlessly plays scenes that have already been released for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." At the bottom part of the homepage are links to the trailer, the amiibo for the game, and the pre-order link.
The Game Awards 2016 will air on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 8:30 p.m. EST. For those who do not have the tickets or are unable to go to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the game awards will be streamed live on their official website, but it will also be available to watch through other social media channels like, Facebook Live, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube.
There is still no specific release date announced for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," but with the tease that Nintendo has been doing for the game, it might not be too much for fans to hope that along with new footage, Nintendo would also announce a release date.
