Xiaomi continues to ride its momentum in India, as it launched a new variant of the Redmi 5A this week.

According to a report from TechRadar, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer launched the Redmi 5A Rose Gold variant in the South Asian country on Thursday. The device came with a price tag of Rs 4,999 and has already been listed on the Flipkart and Mi.com websites, the report added.

The Redmi 5A is the company's entry-level smartphone, with the first two color variants, namely, the Dark Grey and Champagne Gold, released in November last year. The Rose Gold variant was also announced during launch though it was only this week that it was released by Xiaomi.

Interestingly, Xiaomi also teased the Indian market on Wednesday regarding the launch of the Redmi 5A Rose Gold. Through Xiaomi India's official Twitter account, the company posted a message saying "I'm beautiful. I'm powerful. I'm everyone's choice. Guess who am I? Watch this space tomorrow." Moreover, the tweet also came with an image of a message, saying "A little rose, a little gold, Something we haven't told. A phone that you love to the core, Stay tuned to know more."

As for the specs, Gadgets360 said that it will bear the same features as the first two variants earlier released. These include a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. It will run on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. Furthermore, the device also comes with two memory choices, namely, the 2GB RAM–16GB storage combination and the 3GB RAM–32GB storage option.

As for the camera, the device features a 13-megapixel rear camera complete with PDAF and LED flash, plus a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies. It also comes with a 3000mAh battery, as well as sensors for the ambient light, accelerometer, and proximity.

With this latest release from Xiaomi, the company will likely strengthen its hold on the Indian smartphone market where it has recently overtaken its stiff rival, Samsung.
