Many Xiaomi fans were quite thrilled when a rumor emerged on the internet claiming that the Chinese mobile manufacturer is now planning to launch the mini version of its Mi Mix handset, dubbed the Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano.
However, it seems like this isn't going to happen as the Chinese manufacturer recently debunked the claim and confirmed that this is just a rumor.
According to the report from Xiaomi Today, the company's marketing director — Zang Zhiyuan — has recently published a post on the Chinese micro blogging website Weibo which read, "There's no such product as Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano, there's a brand using "low level trick" to do sales."
The debunking of the rumored Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano is certainly surprising, considering that there have been plenty of leaked renders that have surfaced on the web which allegedly showcased the device and even its codename, the "Nano."
Some enthusiasts, however, are still keeping their hopes up with the mini variant of the Xiaomi Mi Mix handset.
GSM Arena reported that there is a slight chance that this rumor could be true. The reason being is that, Zang Zhiyuan was referring to the brand's name on the post and not the actual unit.
This is, of course, was one of the few speculations that are out on the internet regarding the existence of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. With that said, it is highly advisable to take this report with a tiny pinch of salt and until proven otherwise.
Meanwhile, in terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano is said to come with a 5.5-inch screen and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821. The device will allegedly have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in storage capacity. It is also said that the alleged mini variant might come with a ceramic chassis.
