As Black Friday draws closer, consumers are on the lookout for the best deals from the biggest retail stores all over the U.S. While some stores have already announced their schedule starting on Thanksgiving day, regular favorites such as Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and Toys R Us have yet to announce if they are serving customers on the holiday.

Quite often, Walmart delays its announcement until at least a week before Black Friday to keep consumers excited and on the lookout for items up for big discounts. Black Friday comes after the celebration of Thanksgiving and this year it will take place on Nov. 25. It is also considered the first day of the Christmas season.

While most stores are closed for this annual holiday to encourage people to spend time with their respective families, some opt to open on Thanksgiving Day itself.

Macy's will be open from 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24 until 2 a.m. of Friday, Nov. 25. The Black Friday discounts will be available starting from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to The Black Friday, a site that compiles all the schedules of the biggest stores observing the tradition. In 2015, some stores started their Black Friday sale as early as Wednesday. Other stores had their Thanksgiving Day sale apart from the following day's sale.

On the other hand, retailers that will close their doors on Thanksgiving Day include Staples, Harbor Freight and Sam's Club. Moreover, CBL Associates and Properties, operator of Parkway Place Mall in Huntsville, Gadsden Mall in Gadsden, Wiregrass Commons Mall in Dothan, and several other malls already announced that they will not be open on Thanksgiving Day.

Previous reports mentioned a leak in Harbor Freight's upcoming deals with their power tools. While Macy's deals for Black Friday have not gone live yet, some items with big discounts have already been revealed on other sites. It is expected that special deals on gadgets from Dell and Apple will be also be available.

In addition to this, it is believed that Target and Best Buy will shoulder shipping costs for purchases made online on Black Friday. Reports have also hinted that Walmart and Amazon's free shipping promo requires a minimum purchase of $50, except for customers who have a Prime or Shipping Pass membership. Kohl's and Macy's are also expected to require a minimum purchase of $50 in order for their customers to avail of the free shipping offer.

Amazon is expected to launch its Black Friday sale as early as Nov. 1.
