Square Enix's upcoming fighting game from the iconic "Final Fantasy" franchise will get a special open beta soon.
The game developer announced on Monday via Twitter that fans can get a crack at "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" on the PlayStation 4 (PS4) early next month. The open beta, however, will only be available in North America and in Europe, Square Enix clarified.
"DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT invites you to join us for the Open Beta starting January 12th. Mark your calendars and step into the arena on Jan 12 through Jan 21, 2018! #DissidiaFFNT," the developer wrote. Square Enix already held a closed beta for the upcoming game back in August, which ran through a little over a week, an IGN report noted.
Meanwhile, the open beta in January will get another chance to enjoy some three-on-three, arcade style fighting, days before the title is officially launched. Gamespot noted, however, that Square Enix has yet to release the exact time when the open beta goes live, though fans can expect more details and updates in the coming days.
The game will feature 28 characters coming from different games and installments from the "Final Fantasy" franchise. Some of the characters confirmed for the game include Noctis from "Final Fantasy XV," Cloud from "Final Fantasy VII," and Ace from "Final Fantasy Type-0." In addition, the game will also feature a number of legendary Summons that players can use in battle, the Gamespot report added.
For hardcore Final Fantasy fans, the at "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT: Ultimate Collector's Edition" for PS4 is now available for pre-order for $189.99 at the Square Enix Store. The set comes in a Collector's Box showcasing some legendary Final Fantasy characters, an 8.25-inch Warrior of Light bust, and an 84-page hardcover art book, featuring sketches and artwork from Dissidia.
"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" officially launches on Jan. 30 on PS4 in Europe and in North America.
