HGTV's "Fixer Upper" is down its final season, signaling an end to an epic run for Chip and Joanna Gaines. Despite closing a chapter in their lives, a new one is about to begin, as the couple recently confirmed via social media that they are expecting their fifth child.

Despite the good news, some did not take the announcement in a cheerful and positive way. According to a FOX report, the couple was criticized by some social media users for their decision to have another child. A Facebook user said that "having another child is an irresponsible act," noting that the world is already overpopulated.

Moreover, US Weekly also reported about other social media users having harsher comments directed to the Gaineses. "The 'We're back together sex kid' never fixes a marriage. Just means one more kid, the marriage is still broken, and now the kid has to do pay for broken marriage sex," said one commenter.

Another one said that "having a baby won't make you better," while another added "I like them ok but enough with the kids already. Their own children begged them not to have any more children on a previous episode already+overpopulation."

Despite being blasted by some netizens, the couple still received huge support from their followers. Chip also posted a photo of him and Joanna on Instagram as they both compare the sizes of their tummies. The photo also came with a caption, saying "Gaines party of 7.. (If you're still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT)," confirming the good news.

The couple's announcement came after the airing of a "Fixer Upper" episode last Tuesday, where the two fixed the house of Joanna's sister and her husband. Incidentally, the homeowners were expecting their sixth child, The Washington Post noted.

The Gaineses announced that they are ending their show on HGTV after five successful seasons. The couple said that they had to make the tough decision so they can focus more on their children, as well as their other businesses.
