Despite falling apart and already living separate lives, the hosts of HGTV's "Flip or Flop" still find themselves connected and competing, this time, for their own TV shows.
According to The Daily Mail, ex-couple Tarek and Christina El Moussa were reportedly pitching for months to have their own separate spin-offs of their hit TV series. A source who is close to the couple said that Christina is "hell bent on breaking out on her own," a claim that is likely one of the reasons for the 33-year-old to show off her summer body in a bikini earlier this week. The photos, which she posted on her Instagram account, showed Christina flaunting her toned legs and solid abs.
The source, however, added that Christina's relationship with HGTV has been on the rocks after she reportedly talked to other TV producers at the prospects of starring in her own solo show. Some quarters are speculating that the host is toying with danger, as HGTV can renew her contract but keep her from getting on the air. Furthermore, the chances of "Flip or Flop" returning for an eighth season is almost nil, as the seventh season was shortened to only five episodes.
Tarek, on the other hand, also showed off his summer body in a photo of him flexing his muscles and showing off his rejuvenated form after battling two forms of cancers not too long ago. His efforts of having his own show, on the other hand, started back in May of 2016, but his reputation of having a "big ego" held potential partners back, added the source.
Last month, the 35-year-old real estate expert posted a photo on Instagram, showing how the way his body looked when he was still battling two forms of cancers three years ago. The picture showed Tarek and his frail and thin body, which was a result of him losing 60 pounds because of his illness. "I thought I would share this with everyone... to truly understand how absolutely sick I was.. look at this photo and look at my eyes, I was a skeleton," shared Tarek.
