Microsoft has announced four titles for the Games with Gold lineup this coming January 2017.
For the whole month of January, Microsoft's Games with Gold will give Xbox One players access to NeoCore's game "World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap." The game is a mix between tower defense and action RPG, with players having the option to choose from PvP, Single Player Campaign, and Cooperative Campaign.
Meanwhile, Microsoft Studios' "Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition" will also be available to Xbox One players for a whole month, but it will not be available until Jan. 16. The offer will last until Feb. 15. Although the base "Killer Instinct" game is already free, to have the Season 2 Ultra Edition as a free offering from Microsoft gives the players a better roster lineup that they can work with.
For Xbox 360 players, Microsoft will be releasing Double Fine Productions and Ron Gilbert's "The Cave" for free from Jan. 1 to 15, 2017. In "The Cave," players will have to assemble a team of adventurers that will have to navigate the game. Players can choose three characters from a lineup that will be part of their group until the end of the game. To choose other characters, players would have to restart the game.
"The Cave" is also available to Xbox One players through the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.
Another title that is being offered to Xbox 360 players is Ubisoft's "Rayman Origins," the fourth installment in the "Rayman" franchise. In "Rayman Origins," players will have to save the Glade of Dreams from the Darktoons, by rescuing Nymphs, gathering Electoons, and curing the Bubble Dreamer of his nightmares.
Similar to "The Cave," "Rayman Origins" will also be available to Xbox One players through the popular Xbox One Backward Compatibility program, but unlike the former, Microsoft will be releasing "Rayman Origins" at the latter part of the month, specifically on Jan. 16 to 31, 2017.
