Fans of political thriller "Homeland" were given a break through the Superbowl, but the intense drama is set to resume this week, as spoilers keep its followers at the edge of their seats while waiting for the fifth episode of season 6.

In a report by Blasting News, cable channel Showtime, which carries Homeland, has reportedly shared glimpses of two potential storylines for the next episode of the TV series. The storylines, however, were said to be vague.

Episode five, titled "Casus Belli," which is translated as "an act or event that provokes or is used to justify war," will likely feature newly-installed president Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) getting sidelined. The reason for her being sidelined, however, is unclear, which led to fan speculations and more questions as to how long Keane will be held on the backseat. The other storyline for episode five would revolve around Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) who will find that if her actions get intense, it will start affecting her personal life like never before, to the point that life at home will be involved.

Moreover, the promotional video released by Showtime showed Carrie going after her daughter who was seemingly trapped inside their house, as the situation outside escalates to new heights. A report from CarterMatt also mentioned that Carrie was being held liable for her actions by the people of the city. Additionally, the report said that the heated situation will leave Quinn right in the middle of things.

Episode four of the multi-awarded series, titled "A Flash of Light," touched on the tension between Carrie and ops specialist Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham), as Carrie had secretly been giving advice to President Keane even before she emerged victorious in the elections.

Another issue tackled in the last episode involved Sekou, who posted more videos that could pave the way for his return to prison. Carrie, in turn, tried to convince him to put down the videos, which she successfully managed to do after engaging the former in a debate.

Homeland season 6 episode 5 will air on Sunday, Feb. 19, 9 p.m., on the Showtime Network.
