A lot of Apple enthusiasts were quite disappointed when the much-awaited and long-rumored iPad Mini 5 did not show up at the October 2016 launch event for the MacBook Pro 2016.
Because of this, the rumor mill has now shifted its focus to another potential release timeframe, and this time it suggests that the device could get launched earlier next year.
According to MacWorld UK, it seems like there is a good chance that the Cupertino-based tech giant will launch the next mini tablet — the iPad Mini 5 — at its event sometime in March 2017. This is all due to the same timeframe that Apple launched its iPad Pro this year, which was on March 31.
However, since majority of the rumored launch dates for the iPad Mini 5 are hits and misses, fans are highly advised to keep an open mind for the time being. Needless to say, technophiles should take this news with a pinch of salt – just like with the previous October 2016 launch – and consider it as mere rumors until proven otherwise.
Meanwhile, there is a rumor circulating the internet which suggests that Apple may actually change the market name of its iPad Mini 5 once it gets released in March 2017. Word has it that instead of the iPad Mini 5, the Cupertino-based tech giant will call the next device the iPad Pro Mini.
If this turns out to be accurate then fans can certainly expect to see some sort of upgraded components under its hood – probably the same, if not a bit lower, specifications as the iPad Pro 2016.
There are also some rumors stating that the iPad Pro Mini might probably adapt some of the changes that Apple implemented on its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus handsets. However, these are all still unconfirmed.
More news about the iPad Mini 5 (or iPad Pro Mini) should emerge in the coming months.
