The year 2018 was a grand one for Nintendo as it launched its latest flagship console, the Nintendo Switch. Apart from making it big in the console wars, two of its famous titles also stamped their class in one of the biggest online retailers in the country.

Amazon released its Best Sellers of 2017 list among video games they offered last year. On the list, "Super Mario Odyssey" emerged as the best-selling video game on Amazon in 2017. Following the 3D platform adventure game was "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" in second place. Bagging the third spot, on the other hand, was "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which was the official launch game of the Nintendo Switch.

Overall, however, it was the PlayStation Store $20 credit that took home the top spot among all video game items. It was followed by the PlayStation Store $10 credit. Both store credit gift cards can be used to purchase different games for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita consoles, a Polygon report noted.

Meanwhile, Guerilla Games' action-RPG "Horizon Zero Dawn" took home the fourth spot in the video game category. It was followed by "Call of Duty: WWII" for PS4 and "Call of Duty: WWII" for the Xbox One at the fifth and sixth spots, respectively. Third-person shooter game "Splatoon 2" secured the seventh spot while "Pokemon Ultra Sun," "Pokemon Ultra Moon," and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" for Wii U rounded out the Top 10 at the eighth, ninth, and 10th spots, respectively.

As for the Nintendo Switch, it also bested the Xbox One X of Microsoft in Google's Year in Search 2017 list, making it the most-searched gaming console in the Google search box for last year. The console took the third spot in the Consumer Tech category, two spots above Microsoft's recently-released super console.

In addition, Nintendo has also sold over 10 million Switch units since the console's official launching way back in March.
