With the hit reality TV show "Married at First Sight" making a return to the small screens today, it is intriguing to see how six single people will find love by tying the knot with a stranger. Before they reach the altar, it is interesting to see who these six hopeful singles are.

According to a story from the New York Post, leading the pack in the fifth season is Anthony D'Amico, a 33-year-old sales and marketing professional who hails from a traditional Italian family based in Detroit. D'Amico is no stranger to tumultuous relationships, as his parents divorced while he was still an infant, then got back together before splitting again for good in 2010. He has also been in a relationship that lasted for three years, and he is currently in search of a partner for life.

Next is Cody Knapek, a 26-year-old entrepreneur who also saw his parents divorce when he was in his teens. He said he is looking for an ideal partner who has a great personality, a good sense of humor, who is empathetic, and who carries positivity.

Meanwhile, restaurant manager Ashley Petta experienced the opposite, living in a family with parents who have been happily married for three decades. Thirty-year-old Petta has been single for the past two years and is looking for a man who already wants to raise a family. On the other hand, there is Danielle DeGroot, a 30-year-old registered dietician who was raised in Chicago and is looking for an intelligent, masculine man who loves sports.

Meanwhile, Michigan-born Nate Duhon wants a woman who is religious, ambitious, and who already wants to have children. The 26-year-old business manager was raised by his mother. Lastly, there is Sheila Downs, a 31-year-old school district director of operations who hails from South Chicago and is the fourth among four girls. Like Nate, Sheila is said to be looking for a career-focused Christian partner.

The show features six singles that will be matched by relationship experts. Then, they will attend a wedding ceremony with the new partners that they've never met before. Season 5 of "Married at First Sight" premieres tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
