There have been a lot of news and updates about "Mass Effect: Andromeda," and recently, BioWare gave a great surprise to fans during the first day of the Consumer Electronics Show 2017, which is scheduled to run from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8.

Electronic Arts did not only release a new gameplay trailer for "Mass Effect: Andromeda," but they also finally gave a release date for the much-awaited game. If that is not enough, the release date is just a little more than two months away.

The trailer released was a little more than two minutes, and the first 30 or so seconds featured the Tempest, the starship that the players will use to find new planets that humanity can colonize. Almost immediately after, it was soon revealed that the characters were stranded on an unknown planet which they have decided to check out.

It wasn't long before the Pathfinder encounters some hostile creatures.

It has already been revealed that the upcoming "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will do away with the class system that it had in the previous "Mass Effect" games.

The removal of the class system is not what had fans worried with the release of the gameplay trailer, though. In the split-second it was shown, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that it seemed like, despite the different abilities available to the character, it looked like a player is only allowed to equip three of them at a time. It is still not confirmed if players really will be limited in terms of abilities equipped.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" takes place 600 years after the last "Mass Effect" game, and EA has confirmed that the ending that the players got in the previous "Mass Effect" game will have no bearing on "Mass Effect: Andromeda."

Players will have the option to choose between the two Ryder siblings: Scott and Sarah. No matter which character is chosen, their father, N7 Agent Alec Ryder, will play a key role in the narrative of the game.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Xbox One on March 21 in North America, while those in Europe will have to wait a couple of days as it will be released on March 23 in the region.
