For the past several months, there has been no concrete news regarding the health status of the legendary Formula One racing driver, Michael Schumacher. Most of his fans have been relying heavily on rumor reports and speculations regarding his health in order to try to piece together his current predicament and determine whether or not he would ever recover.

The racing legend met a horrific freak accident back in 2013 when he was skiing with his family in the Swiss Alps. Due to the extent of his injuries and the damage to his brain, the driver had to be put into a medically induced coma for six months. After he had woken up, he was then transferred back to his home in 2014.

Ever since then, the family of the injured driver has requested a full media blackout, which included all medical staff attending to Schumacher being banned from disclosing any information to the public. It is rumored that there is an army of medical professionals attending to the racer around the clock, which is costing the family a lot of money to maintain.

Now there is apparently some great news in the form of a recent statement from former Ferrari chairman, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, which has now given fans renewed hope that Schumacher might fully recover from his injuries. According to di Montezemolo, Schumacher is apparently responding well to treatment and that he should be able to overcome this particular ordeal.

"I know how strong he is. I'm sure that thanks to his determination, which will be crucial, he will come out from this very, very difficult situation," the former chairman mentioned.

The news is, of course, a welcome one as past reports regarding Schumacher's health had not been that positive. Some reports even claimed that it would be very difficult for Schumacher to fully recover due to the extent of his injuries.
