The ongoing Mobile World Congress 2018 happening right now in Barcelona, Spain is expected to be packed with announcements and launchings of new devices from various tech companies. With the event becoming the perfect venue to introduce new products to the public, Nokia made sure to showcase some of its upcoming offerings.
According to a report from TNW, the mobile device manufacturer unveiled the Nokia 7 Plus, which is the company's first-ever Android One phone offering. The device comes with a 6-inch, full HD+ (2,160 x 1,080 pixels) with an 18:9 aspect ratio display, slim bezels, and a 16-megapixel camera placed at the top of the front fascia. The specs are impressively enclosed in an aluminum unibody design, the report added.
Meanwhile, the back of the Nokia 7 Plus showcases a Zeiss-built dual-camera system, featuring a 12-megapixel wide camera coupled with a 13-megapixel telephoto variant that has 2x optical zoom capabilities. As for the inside, CNet noted that the device will run on the Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm, with 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of internal storage. In addition, the device will be powered by a 3,600mAh battery that is fast-charging, though non-removable.
Meanwhile, an early hands-on review from TechRadar gave out positive points for the Nokia 7 Plus. The review praised the device for its impressive battery life and an affordable price tag of $490 USD for something that offers a relatively premium design.
Apart from the Nokia 7 Plus, the company also unveiled another device called the new Nokia 6. The device, which is the cheaper option, is an upgraded version of last year's Nokia 6, the CNet report added. Priced at $280 USD, the device still carries the same overall design but with new colors.
It also comes with a more powerful processor in the Snapdragon 630, with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. A bigger version comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage.
As for the camera, the front features 16 megapixels while the rear comes with a dual setup — a 12-megapixel and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens.
