PlayStation Plus news: Free games list for January 2017 revealed

The year 2017 is quickly knocking, so it is no surprise that Sony has announced the free games that they will be offering for PlayStation Plus come January 2017.

In an update on the PlayStation Blog, they revealed the titles in the lineup which features the "Day of the Tentacle Remastered" from Double Fine Productions and "This War of Mine: The Little Ones" from 11 bit studios for PlayStation 4. Some of the games in the list are also available for other PlayStation consoles via cross-buy.

"Day of the Tentacle Remastered" features three friends who will have to work together to solve puzzles and time travel just to foil the plans of an evil mutated purple tentacle of taking over the world.

The survival game from 11 bit studios, "This War of Mine: The Little Ones," is also another featured game for the PlayStation 4. The game is more serious, and it is a game where the player would have to make sure that the group of civilians survive a city that is under siege as they try to collect food and medicine.

Other games in the lineup include Targem Games' "Blazerush" for the PlayStation 3. Size Five Games and Curve Digital's "The Swindle" is also offered for PlayStation 3, and it is available via cross-buy for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita as well.

Of course, Sony will not forget their lineup for the PlayStation Vita as they offer MythPeople's "Azkend 2." PlayStation Vita will also get Devolver Digital and Acid Nerve's "Titan Souls," which is also offered to PlayStation 4 players via cross buy.

PlayStation Plus members will have free access to all six games come Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.

For now, PlayStation Plus members could enjoy "Invisible, Inc." and "Stories: Path of Destinies" for PlayStation 4; "Hyper Void" and "Tiny Troopers Joint Ops" for PlayStation 3, with the latter also available for cross-buy on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The final two games are "Color Guardians" and "VVVVVV" for PlayStation Vita, with the former available for cross-buy on PlayStation 4.
