There were a lot of "Rick and Morty" fans who were very much disappointed when the new year has arrived, and still, no episode of "Rick and Morty" season 3 was in sight.

In a report from Den of Geek, it was revealed that only three episodes of "Rick and Morty" season 3 has finished production, so there are still 11 episodes to finish.

Although there were no new "Rick and Morty" episodes released in 2016, Adult Swim did release an almost three-minute clip of an episode in "Rick and Morty" season 3.

In the clip, it showed Morty eavesdropping on Jessica and her friends' conversation, where he learned that she is finally single. Mustering up his courage, he approached Jessica, only for his flirting plans to be foiled by Rick. Intergalactic chaos immediately ensues after.

It wasn't surprising that Morty ended up weeping and bawling like a baby after the encounter. What was surprising was that Rick himself was obviously shaken up as he admitted that he definitely did not have control of what happened to them and that he was really in the wrong.

It is not known what episode of "Rick and Morty" season 3 the clip came from, but it is obviously after Rick has escaped — or was released — from Intergalactic prison.

With the smashing success of the first two seasons of "Rick and Morty," co-creator and executive producer Dan Harmon revealed that there is more pressure this season. He relayed the story of looking at episode 304 and not feeling fully satisfied even though he was keenly aware that the team was already behind schedule. Harmon then relayed how he was happy to learn that it was not the only one who wanted to continuously improve the episode despite the lack of time.

There is still no release date set for "Rick and Morty" season 3.
