Adding more color and spice to a surprise airing of its third season last week, "Rick and Morty" unleashed an amazing line that sent their fans into a frenzy.

One of the cartoon series' lead characters, Rick Sanchez, admitted in season three's first episode that his passion and motivation in life is finding the old McNugget Szechuan sauce of fast food giant McDonald's. "Nine more seasons until I get that dipping Szechuan sauce, or 97 more years, Morty!" said the time-traveling scientist while his mouth foamed in excitement and anticipation.

As a result, fans of the show came up with a Change.org petition, asking McDonald's to "Bring Back the Mulan Szechuan Sauce." Furthermore, a report from USA Today said that fans had also been watching online tutorials as to how to make the sauce at home and tweeting the iconic fast food chain, asking them to bring back the dip in their regular menu.

In response, Terri Hickey, one of McDonald's' spokespersons, released a statement that fans of the show can be hopeful for. "We never say never, because when our customers speak, we listen," Hickey said. "And to paraphrase some of our most enthusiastic fans, our sauce is so good that it would be worth waiting 9 seasons or 97 years for," he added in reference to the "Rick and Morty" line. Moreover, McDonald's also responded to one of the tweets by the writers of the show, saying "@RickandMorty McNugga Lubba Dub Dub."

Earlier this year, the creators of the animated science fiction sitcom that airs on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim hinted that the third season was still deep in its production and gave no clear timetable for its pilot episode. "First, you write them, then you draw them for a really long time. Everything needs to be on paper. So you can see it," said Dan Harmon, jokingly explaining the production process in one of his "Harmontown" podcasts.
