It has been a while since some really important news about "The Expendables 4" has been released, so a lot of recent reports coming out over the past few months are only speculations and rumors. Recently, however, it was Sylvester Stallone himself who took to social media to post an update about the movie.

In a video that the action superstar uploaded on the last day of 2016, he stated: "I'm going to start working out. Working out for the next Expendables, that's going to be great! Fingers crossed. We're going to do our best, but I think we have some really great attitude going. We have good ideas. I think everyone is expecting something different and we're going to give it to them."

In the short message, Stallone also mentioned how he was afraid of heights, and the actor admitted the irony of him making "Cliffhanger" with that phobia. The small piece of information has prompted MovieWeb to speculate that the upcoming "The Expendables 4" could possibly be linked to the storyline of "Cliffhanger."

For now, not much is known about "The Expendables 4," especially when it comes to the actors who will be cast in the next installment. Of course, "The Expendables 4" will not happen without Stallone, so it'll be safe to assume that he's in the next movie.

Other actors who are expected to be reprising their roles are Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews.

Additionally, a lot of rumors have circulated, connecting some big names to the franchise, including the legendary Jackie Chan and former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan. For some time, there were even rumors claiming that Hulk Hogan will be a part of "The Expendables 4."

There is still no release date announced for "The Expendables 4," but production has been scheduled to start at around the end of the year, with the film scheduled to be released in 2018.
