Bezels, the frame that surrounds the front screen on a smartphone or any gadget with a monitor, have always been present on most — if not all — of the devices today. However, it seems like Xiaomi is planning to break the habit on its upcoming handset, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
According to the latest leaked renders posted on the Russian website Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru, it appears like the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 might come out in the market as a bezel-less handset, thus giving the impression that it is somehow going to sport an all-screen front design.
It should be noted, however, that the photos featured on the report only showed the upper half of the handset and it is unclear whether or not it will come with a home screen button or touchpad.
Interestingly enough, it seems like the bezel-less design is only present on the flat screen variant of the handset. As can be seen in the previous leak for the curved-screen model of the Xiaomi Note 2, the variant does not give off any indication of a bezel-less design on the upper part of the phone, GSM Arena reported.
Xiaomi has yet to release any statement, though, regarding the matter but considering that its release date has already been set to Oct. 25, fans should just wait for the event to kick off and hope that everything becomes clear on that day.
In terms of specifications, rumors have it that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will run using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 System on Chip (SoC) and it will be supported by either a 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) or an even larger 6 GB of RAM. There are three possible options for the built-in storage capacity for the Mi Note 2 and they are: the 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB.
